Several years of grass roots efforts, a strong partnership with the Portland Development Commission and community partners made this project a reality. Previously an abandoned car dealership, the Mercado is now a commercial and cultural hub for small business owners. Including 8 food carts, a grocer with fresh produce, a beer and wine shop, a meat and chorizo vendor, a coffee shop, a party shop and a fruit and juice store along with offices for small business and a full time affordable commissary kitchen.
