A Bridge Between Cultures

Portland Mercado has served as a community anchor, bringing together diverse cultures through food, art, and entertainment, giving local entrepreneurs a place to see their dreams become reality. The Portland Mercado has served as home and incubator for over 100 local businesses. This all paused since the fire in January 2024 and is under reconstruction.

Right after the fire, Hacienda and the community fundraised $250K, which was distributed among the businesses impacted by the fire. We have continued to pursue reconstruction, and we are excited to announce that we are now in the construction phase.

The capital campaign allows an opportunity for the community and the public at large to help shape the future of the Portland Mercado as we engage with them, asking for their input. Together, we can reflect upon what would be the best business model for the Portland Mercado moving forward.  

We are fully committed to making the necessary changes to return to a thriving Portland Mercado.
