Hacienda Book Drive – Help us re-stock the library!

Hacienda youth are readers!

We support and encourage a love for reading in our afterschool programs by making sure we have a variety of bilingual books that inspire our youth, starting in kindergarten, to read.

We need your help to restock our bookshelves.

March 1 – 21st we invite you to participate in Hacienda’s 2020 Book Drive

We’ve carefully selected a wish list of books we know our students will read cover to cover. There are 3 easy ways you can participate:

1. Our wish list is below. If you own a gently used copy of any of these books that you’re ready to pass on, we’d love it.

2. Our book drive partner is locally-owned A Children’s Place Bookstore 1423 NE Fremont St. Portland, OR). You can call or stop by to purchase any of the books on our wish list at 20% off. (If you purchase other books while you are there, A Children’s Place will donate an additional 10% of your purchase price to Hacienda!)

3. Donate directly to Hacienda here and note “book drive” in the comments. We’ll use your donation to complete our wish list.

Every book matters. We offer academic support and personal enrichment year-round, so these books will be read and loved.

Donated books can be dropped off at Hacienda CDC’s headquarters (6700 NE Killingsworth St) Monday – Friday 9-5pm in the lobby. Please make sure to include your name, address and email so we can send you a receipt you’re your donation. If you need to arrange a different drop off time, please contact Beckie at (503) 961-6409 or blee@haciendacdc.org. Books purchased at A Children’s Place can be left onsite and we’ll pick them up from there.
