Almost three decades ago, our founders and community members came together to set in motion an organization to assist in creating a better and healthier community. Since then, Hacienda has supported the successes of hundreds of thousands of people in Oregon.
Today we invite you to support our mission by investing in our future. By supporting Hacienda’s Gala, you are supporting the growth and success of our Oregon communities. Your support will be invested in creating more housing, education and economic development opportunities for all low-income families.
Portland Timbers with HandsOn Greaer Portland will be helping Youth and Family Services paint two murals designed by youth of the Expresiones After School Program! We will be painting a tree mural with hand prints placed by youth as a celebration of their new program space. The second mural will be named “We Stand Together” and it will depict the world with children from different countries below, holding hands as a representation of everyone being welcome in Hacienda CDC and the youth in the program.
Stand Together Week is the Portland Timbers, Thorns FC, and T2 citywide volunteer initiative that brings the community together to support local nonprofit organizations. The week engages hundreds of supporters, including Timbers, Thorns FC, & T2 players, coaches, ambassadors and front office staff who work with various non-profits in the community. Since 2012, Stand Together Week participants have donated 15,371 hours of service at over 193 projects focused on benefiting youth and the environment.

Baltazar F. Ortiz Community Center Hosts Lunch + Play Program
We’re happy to be hosting Portland Parks and Recreation again this year with their summer Lunch + Play Program. Parks staff will be at Villa de Suenos behind the Ortiz Center each weekday from 10:30am-2:30pm. Lunch is served at noon and is free to all youth.
57% of young Portlanders qualify for free or reduced-price lunch during the school year. Without school lunches, summer becomes the time when nearly 50,000 Portland children face hunger daily. The Free Lunch + Play program supports families by offering nutritious meals and recreational activities during the summer recess.
