For Homeowners at risk of foreclosure, at any stage in the foreclosure process, Hacienda can help you:

If you are a homeowner AT RISK of foreclosure:

For homeowners who are current, but show high risk of falling behind on their mortgage, Hacienda's Homeownership Support Program offers:

  • Preventative information and education through community-based Default Intervention Workshops, homeownership support presentations and trainings;
  • One-on-one counseling at Hacienda CDC's centrally located offices;
  • Individualized review of the homeowner's current financial condition, including a detailed housing analysis and action plan development;
  • coordinated housing support services within Hacienda CDC;
  • Appropriate referrals to a network of Multnomah County non-profit partners and professional groups that offer complementary assistance; and
  • Advocacy for homeowners seeking to engage their loan servicers for the resolution of pending requests.
  • If you have not yet received a Notice of Default from your servicer, you are eligible to take advantage of Oregon's new foreclosure avoidance mediation program - SB 1552- as an "at risk' homeowner and receive pre-mediation counseling and training on how to navigate the mediation process.

If one or two mortgage PAYMENTS WERE MISSED:

For homeowners who are late on their mortgage payment but have not received a Notice of Default, Hacienda's Homeownership Support Program offers:

  • All of the services that are available to homeowners At Risk, but organized to meet the specific timeline and the circumstances of documented hardship
  • If you have not received a Notice of Default but are already at least one month behind in payment of your mortgage, concact us immediately;
  • Call the Homeownership Support Program to request an intake application
  • Next, register and attend our Default Intervention Workshop; and
  • After your in-take file is complete for review, a certified housing counselor will meet with you for one-on-one counseling.

If you are IN DEFAULT NOW:

For homeowners who have received a Notice of Default and are presently facing foreclosure:

  • Contact us immediately for expedited assistance.
  • Call our staff and complete our in-take application;
  • Be prepared with the date of default and/or sale date if one has been established;
  • If possible, register and attend our Default Intervention Workshop;
  • Next, schedule a time for one-on-one counseling;
  • With a complete intake application, counseling sessions will be most effective;
  • Our trained counselors will review your present financial condition with you, isolate the steps of the foreclosure process, and identify and discuss all available options; and
  • At the conclusion of one-on-one counseling sessions, counselors and homeowners will produce an action plan to proceed in accomplishing the agreed upon goal within the time-sensitive pre-foreclosure period.
